• About: Intending to promote a sleek and cold aesthetic, for this production I wrapped the structure of Hazel Robinson Amphitheater in greenhouse plastic. A dais on the 2nd story is painted with the Danish flag. Three custom-built boxes double as furniture and storage. Two 4'x8' portraits of Denmark's kings (Hamlet and Claudius) hang on the upstage wall (Claudius's portrait is unfurled during the action.) Hundreds of strings stretched from the upper to lower levels limit the playable space while creating a murky, smoky, liminal space where only the dead can move. A pop-up tree emerges for a dramatization of Ophelia's death.
